Lot Photo Description Realized
Lot 954
1929 Type 1, $5 National Bank Notes Uncut Sheet. The First NB, Cassopolis, MI, Ch#1812. PMG Choice Uncirculated 64. Fr-1800-1. KL-1170. This is one of the more common small size National Bank Note sheets available to collectors, as a group of notes from this bank was kept uncut in a group and never circulated. Many of the sheets have been cut to obtain superb individual examples, so intact sheets are increasingly difficult to locate.
Estimated Value $2,500 - 3,000.

Lot 955
1929, $10 National Bank Note. The First NB, Winnemucca, NV, Ch#3575. PMG Gem Uncirculated 66. Fr-1801-1. KL-1243. A spectacular Gem with excellent margins, bold original embossing, and bright paper that contrasts with the rich inks. This note comes from a small run of high grade pieces that was separated and absorbed into the market years ago, and it's as nice as any we've ever seen from here.
Estimated Value $12,500 - 15,000.

Lot 956
1929 Type 1, $10 National Bank Note. The First NB, Santa Ana, CA, Ch#3520. PCGS Very Fine 20. Fr-1801-1. KL-1243. While a number of small size notes from this bank are available to most collectors who want one, this is the only serial number 1 note extant, large size or small size, from this Orange County bank. It is moderately circulated, but solid for the grade and with no mentionable flaws. While difficult to estimate, similar notes from California have brought strong four-figure numbers in recent years.
Estimated Value $2,000 - 2,500.

1929 Type 1, $10 National Bank Note. The National City Bank of New York, NY, Ch#1461. PCGS Extremely Fine 45. Fr-1801-1. KL-1243. Estimated Value $75 - 100.

Lot 958
1929 Type 1, $50 National Bank Note. The Reno NB, Reno, NV, Ch#8424. PCGS Gem New 65PPQ. Fr-1803-1. KL-1378. This note has a lot going for it: it's a high grade small size note from a state where it's notoriously difficult to obtain any nice example outside of the hoard of $5s from this same bank; it's a $50 from a state that doesn't report many notes of this denomination to the NBN census; and it's a lovely Gem with excellent face centering, bold embossing, and terrific originality. This same note sold for nearly $7500 back in 2005; expect that realization to set the floor for bidding for this lovely example.
Estimated Value $10,000 - 15,000.
